Two Months Old

Jonah is now two months old. He went to the doctor this past week and now weighs 13 lbs 11 oz and is 24 in long. He is growing so fast and is now in the 95th percentile for height, 90th for weight, and 75th for head. He got his first big round of immunizations and handled them remarkably well. The doctor said he was right on track and looked great.

At this point, Jonah is doing lots of new things. He is very interactive and smiles all the time at people as well as while he is playing or looking at toys. He coos and giggles all day long and really only cries when he is hungry or tired and a little in the evening. Jonah now deliberately swings at his toys and in the past day has begun reaching for toys with controlled motions although his little hands are still closed in a fist when he reaches. He does hold toys that are given to him and stares at them very intensely. Tummy time is still a favorite part of his day, and he will do tummy time for 15-20 minutes at a time. Consequently, he is getting very good at holding his head up and pushes up on his arms. Along with tummy time, Jonah enjoys playing on his mat and sitting in his bouncy seat watching Emma run around.

Jonah is still not sleeping through the night although his middle of the night feeding is working its way up to 4:30. His naps are sporadic and short, but he sleeps in his crib and is relatively easy to put down for naps. I have moments where his short naps are frustrating, but I am really enjoying holding him and snuggling while I still can. I know I will soon have to train him to fall asleep without me and sleep in the crib, but I am holding out a little while longer.

Jonah is such a joy and is a precious, happy baby. We are so thankful for him and the blessing of his life!

Happy, Smiling Boy!

Jonah likes to stand up all of the time and now will stand with us just holding (carefully) onto his hands. Obviously he is very wobbly but he is working on his independence and developing his muscles.

This elephant shirt is so cute and this color blue looks gorgeous on Jonah.

Our big boy!

Blowing bubbles

We have a picture of Emma like this. It is such a sweet shot and is amazing how different he and Emma look.

Enjoying some tummy time.
