Well, we are still waiting for this baby to arrive. Throughout the pregnancy we were told that I would not be allowed to go past the due date since Emma was such a large baby and this baby also was not small. As we arrived at the conclusion that the baby was not yet too large, the doctors allowed us to wait another week to schedule an induction, hoping labor would come naturally. When I went to the doctor on the 7th, I saw the doctor in the practice that is anti-induction (not by my choice) and he determined that I needed to wait until the 15th before inducing.
So, we are still waiting and hoping labor will start naturally in the next 24 hours to avoid the induction. Mom arrived last Monday and Dad arrived yesterday. The bummer is that the baby still is not here for them to love on and help with. The blessing is that Mom has been an amazing help with Emma and around the house and I feel more rested going into the birth of this baby than I have felt since Emma was born. We are so thankful for the help and the distraction of Mom and Dad being here.
We continue to wait and trust the Lord's timing. My attitude and control issues have left me frustrated with how this baby isn't here yet, but ultimately we know that the Lord has a reason and the timing of the baby will be perfect and better than we could have planned. It has been really hard to let go of just waiting day in and day out for labor to begin and obsessing over that has been counter productive and even more frustrating.
Today is our 8th anniversary and we are having a wonderful dinner and going to bed praying that tomorrow brings labor and a new addition to our family. We will update the blog as soon as the baby is here and we have a chance.
